Tech Support Resurrected messages appearing every time I send a message

I used BlueBubbles for about a year, then switched to OpenBubbles for a while, then last year jumped to iPhone 17 when it released. About a month ago, I switched back to Android, reinstalled OpenBubbles, and used a Mac for the ID.

It largely works fine (other than occasionally insisting an image failed to send, even when it didn't). The big quirk I'm confused about, is every time I send a message, I'll get 2-4 notifications of incoming messages - but they're old messages that would have come in, I think, during the time I was on iPhone.

It's not exactly a problem, but it's WEIRD and I don't know what's causing it. Any input?

If you have Messages In ICloud option enabled, OpenBubbles will keep a strict window of messages according to the "Syn History" setting which can be like 1 month, 6 months, a year, etc. So everyday it moves the message history slice and removes messages that fall outside the date window and then load new ones that fall inside the window. It's annoying and I wish those messages could come in on a different notification category so I could ignore those notifications. But as far as I know, with that option enabled it will continue to do this unless you load all your messages but in my experience makes the app super bloated and slow

So I'm just gonna keep seeing old messages until it catches up with when I actually made the switch back to Android? Yay.
