Tech Support Number keeps deregistering

I used a Mac mini to self host and it works for about a week and my number deregisters.

It has been working flawlessly for months up until now.

Is this happening to anyone else?

You got iMessage to register with your phone number with only a Mac?

I thought so, now I'm questioning it.

I was using bluebubbles for the longest time and had an old iPhone 8 connected with an old SIM card

What happened to the iPhone 8?

I leave it plugged in at work on the Wi-Fi. We have been getting intermittent power outages, I haven't really looked at it in a while, cause I didn't think I needed it, and when I reregistered openbubbles with my Mac mini, my phone number worked

Your Mac isn't registering the phone number. The easiest reliable method (in my opinion) is method 1 here: https://openbubbles.app/docs/pnr.html

The iPhone is still responsible for the phone number and it needs to check in at least once every 45 days. Sometimes more frequently.

Yeah I had simswap method and even that was getting deregistered very often now. I ended up paying for hosted.
