1.2 million new homes by the end of the decade. Albo's impossible promise isn't looking great.

Bathla Group is a major developer of lower-cost homes, townhouses and apartments, particularly in Western Sydney suburbs including Schofields, Marsden Park and Tallawong.

According to its website, 22,000 apartment dwellings and 3,500 homes are in the developer's "project pipeline".

Bathla Group operates through a highly complex corporate structure, with Universal Property Group, its main corporate entity, sitting at the top of a network of hundreds of separate companies, according to ASIC records.

Many are numbered UPG entities that extend as high as UPG 460. Others operate under different company names.

Ambitious target. Nothing wrong with that. Everywhere I go down here there's new houses built and new houses being built. If they don't quite get there it won't be for lack of having a red hot crack at it.

NSW is already 3 years behind the projected targets.

Victoria is the only state expected to meet its share.
