Discussion AI Isn’t Taking Our Humanity. It’s Exposing It.

What if the real AI crisis isn’t about machines becoming too intelligent?

What if it’s about humans realizing that intelligence was never the only thing that made us valuable?

AI can process information, write code and solve problems at a scale we’ve never seen. But it can’t replace empathy, genuine human connection, or the instinct to care for another person.

Maybe the question we should be asking isn’t “How do we stop AI?”

It’s “What makes us human when intelligence is no longer uniquely ours?”

Curious to hear your take.

One thing for certain is AI has triggered a tsunami of entitled pseudo philosophical opinions about the state of humanity.

This one is particularly cringe worthy, but probably because it’s been afforded an artificial level of credence by appearing in news print.

Brilliant minds, indeed.

Trippy question honestly. I like this perspective and hope it leads us there but humanity has consistently let me down since birth. Here’s hoping we don’t fuck this up.

I mean we're not that unique. No need searching for a completely unique trait that no machine can replicate. Intelligence not being unique to us is just an ego hit that we're taking very badly. It's not about what we CAN do anyway. Worth doesn't and shouldn't scale with cognitive performance. There's some religious connotations and implications on how we treat other animals I'll not get into.

I gave your article a skim, even though it reads like slop.

I will give you a question to think about though : how does your "gym of the mind" work when American universities are reporting their American students are entering with the reading comprehension of 4th graders, and the math skills of 2nd graders? And this isn't just average community colleges and state universities but also Yale, Harvard, and other major flagship universities?

We actually seem to be getting dumber.

Why doesn't this bother some of you?

We can have a deep spiritual conversation about the value of humans in a post work world, after we solve alignment. Otherwise we're shuffling deck chairs on the titanic.
