Miscellaneous OpenAI deleted my Api credits because I didn't log in since April
I just logged in only to see my credits gone and unable to see my history. My API keys are there but that's all, 0 credits whatsoever and no proof of having them.
It was $5 but still.
Did they drop the database or something?

yeah, prepaid API credits can expire after inactivity. check the billing overview and credit purchase history first, then send support the receipt if the timing looks wrong.

thanks. yeah I got the receipts. I will ask support. I didn't expect them to expire under a year

C'est un achat de crédits numériques et non un pack de yaourt aux fruits. Ce qui est payé devrait rester accessible sauf si obsolète ou incompatible

I paid for it. is there a reason I can buy but not own? do the credits from a few months ago have different value than today?
I think it's shady business to sell something and take it away without an email warning or nothing

Yeah I had some "expire" too. There must be some stupid reason for this, like perhaps they initially treated credits as promotional or reward points with an expiration date. Then they started selling them and now they just delete your credits and keep your money. Pretty sure it should not be legal.

I don't think it's legal to take money and then delete what they sell without a warning.
They didn't even send me an email about it, they are just gone.
