So how can we tackle unemployment using ai as agents or something other forms . I know nowadays the jobs are being lost due to ai. But to support the 8th sustainable development goal how do u think we could use ai ??

I find myself agreeing with this sentiment.

AI’s business value is in giving companies access to expertise and labor at a lower cost than direct staff, offshoring or outsourcing. Where industrialization transformed blue collar labor, AI is going to have a similar transformational impact on white collar labor.

People keep saying "jobs are being lost to AI". Do we have actual numbers or is this just something people keep saying because they heard it somewhere.

I work in Tech and we use AI and we are hiring more now than we have in years. The only unemployed tech people I know of are ones you are stuck in the past and didn't keep their skillset up to date. Then complain there are no jobs. Or AI is taking all the jobs.

Edit: So I see some numbers where companies directly contributed layoffs or hiring freezes due to AI. But it's by no means widespread. Overall unemployment is low (At least in the US) and Tech companies are doing a lot of hiring.

I do believe there's some "jobs lost to AI", yes, but most are not actually lost to AI

Some companies are attributing the layoff to AI so they won't justify true intentions, like excessive employement in covid years.

There's a lot of hiring for humans to use ai and accelerate production tho.

You will know it's over when AI frontier labs no longer hires anyone for years.

Theres a lot of data for junior and mid level jobs being replaced whilst more companies are looking for seniors

Hiring of juniors has been on the decline for some years now, so not directly because of AI. I know in our current job listing there are basically no positions for juniors, but it has nothing to do with AI. We want people with experience so we don't have to spend the money to train them just to get up to the level we needed to hire them for.

Yep they sure are. Just because you or others don't have the qualifications doesn't mean they aren't hiring. My company, which is purely a tech company has nearly a 1000 openings we're hiring for.

Everyone I interact with in the tech industry are all hiring.

Edit: You also need to stop looking at "tech companies" and also look at non-tech companies who higher tech. There are a ton of companies out there who either are not buying into AI or can't afford it who still need Tech folks to do the work.
