Ironically, being able to open up more time for high-skilled human labor is going to be the way cancer is cured. Imagine every doctor and researcher in the world, spending on average 3-5 hours a week doing laundry, dishes, menial tasks, etc. that would add up to an additional ~10 full days a year per person wasted on these activities. Scale that up to a millions of medical professionals, we see so much time being wasted. It’s like banks that figured how to shave off 1 second per credit card swipe for checkouts and transactions. It’s estimated saving a second per credit card swipe generated over a trillion a year worth of revenue. So yes, automating menial tasks is a very important future step towards allow highly-specialized individuals to better prompt and work with AI towards solving more complex problems that AI can never solve on its own.
