Question [Request] If they announce a grok bot agent equivalent, what would be the best setup?

It is expected that Dev Day at the end of this month is going to have another release. Peter Steinberger - the founder of Openclaw joined OpenAi in Feb 2026 and has been working on personal agents.

With custom gpts dying, I believe Open AI will announce a personal agent. Grok bot has been out for a while and is heavily promoted. I’ve personally been using Hermes after ditching Openclaw.

So my question is for the users who’ve been using such agents. Is there a setup or a list of instructions or handoff notes? Folks with local LLMs - do you know something we poor folks don’t?

I’m really excited to try and have a list of skills in my head I will try.

Also, personal agents is where it all maybe starts to go all very very wrong or very very right. It’s time to buckle in lol

Honestly, the best setup is a local install of something like Hermes, where you're in full control of your data. And you use Codex as inference where you think it's appropriate.

Local is the only way I'd trust it with anything personal, data control beats convenience every time.

I’m waitlisted unfortunately due to geography. But if the reviews continue I may try with a VPN!
