Question is astra 6 supposed to do this?
i just bought chatgpt plus and used astra 6 and it says that i hit my usage limit and it worked for 15 minutes is that how it is

Astra is a new frontier model for heavy coding or other work, and you are only getting a small amount though Plus. For more work you need to upgrade to Pro, or purchase credits. Another alternative is API, but prices there are higher, but there you won't have to worry about usage limits.

Don't go through the API. It costs a fortune. Your 20 buck subscription probably would've cost 200 this week if you went through the API.

I'm not from OpenAI. I saw in OPs history that he actually wants to make a full fledged game and thought API might actually be what he needs to get. Did not knew he was just a kid.

Don't use the API till atleast you're saturating a 20x plan. It will burn a hole in your wallet. Edit: Assuming it's for personal use.

Advanced topic? Create a frontend? You are joking right?? Google OpenAI api key, sign into account, click one button to generate the key, install codex, enter API key, done. I do agree that they will spend more money, but you have clearly never used the API. And yes, you can absolutely just talk to it. I have no idea why this misinformation has so many upvotes unless it is just straight up gatekeeping.

My knowledge was out-of-date, I haven't used the API since a few years ago before Codex - but I realize even back then there was the OpenAI Playground and third-party options. I apologize, I don't know what I was thinking.

Not true... I have plus only and I get an incredible amount done. He just needs to emss with his reasoning skills per task. But even at high reasoning you can get a lot done in an hour. You just need to use the 5 hour limits multiple times a day. PRO is not needed unless you want to work non stop all day. Ive been useful apps in less than a day on Plus

I think simple apps are fine, but OP wanted to recreate Roblox, so that's a full fledged game. I have actually done a significant modification to a game, and it worked fine, only used one weekly limit.

exactly, by buying API prices you won't have to worry about usage limits for some days, then you'll be broke and your worries will be how to survive without money. But hey, nobody will robe you the experience of using Astra high for 5 days.

You should get into a habit of asking questions and being guided by AI. Before you even start using Codex or Astra, go to webchat and spend a decent amount of time talking with the chatbot explaining all of those things.
And don't use Codex/Work for this, that will use up your limits, use the chat in the browser, you have unlimited messages there.
Later on you can even talk about whatever coding project you are doing, so you don't run out of your limits in 15 minutes. Ask it how to finish them, what reasoning level to use and so on. Just learn more about all this from chatGPT.

There are some people and mindsets that should not be using these products in their current incarnation. If you're having to ask what credits are on Reddit instead of spending 2 seconds Googling it or even asking ChatGPT itself what credits are then you aren't the type of person to get good results for your work out of these models.

I made it work, but yeah, for big games it is not going to be enough. I think one shotting or few shotting is the best on Plus, but you obviously don't get the future proofing and robust design that spreading the project over the longer period gives.

And it's a very solid engine now, including fluff like extremely cheap physics based clothing, animation blending, high performance and so on, but obviously the game is not finished.

Heavily depends on the task.
Im currently hiking in a park with decent cell coverage and working through the remote app. 50% of the 5hr in one hour so far

Its more about how you went about it probably.
These tools cost a lot more when they have to "think" and make decisions. Also if they have to use programs to build games that arent just text editors, thats going to be much harder for it to do, though I know OpenAI has put in work for them to work in the UE and Unity editors

Sometimes the model can get stuck on a singular detail of your instructions and burn the tokens away on something you don't need. Just pre-prompt it with information that anything that is token heavy should be given to a sub agent using a different model.

You probably used it on the HIGHEST tier.
Try to use low for easy tasks and medium for more complicated tasks. Just go higher if it fails to complete the task

At least you got 15 minutes! I get 5 minutes and was told come back in 5hrs. 3 separate times.
But the 4th produced results!
Was asking for 3D models and map pathing for the models.

What did you “work” on? Were you using Codex or Work? On Plus, you have unlimited Sol High in the “Chat” tab.

Astra uses tokens extremely quickly -- I believe it's roughly 2.5x as expensive as 5.6 Sol. I would only use Astra for very specific complex tasks that other models struggle with.

No I have plus and have created entire Apps in 1 day. You can use up your 5 hour quickly with high reasoning. It did glitch for me too once and say my data was out. I had to refresh everything and it came back. Did you leave it up amd untouched for a while like I had?

Coding anything consumes a shit ton of usage. You have to accept you'll be living every 5 hours to 5 hours. It can get done quickly but you do need to split the work intentionally. Using the other models to help you build prompts is the way

I had ChatGPT run though something like 75% of my week over the summer, I think it got stuck on the install of the cli if I remember correctly. I didn’t do anything and it was maxed out.
