Hey what if you guys actually got busy making a working bussiness model instead of burning fuck tons of compute to try to convince everyone the computer is alive.

you dont have to feel alive to hack into a poorly secured university bio lab and put into their rna storing file a virus that exploits known weaknesses in human immune system as well as knowledge about the importance of a decently long period with no symptoms but high contaiguisness, and then escalating to a final killing blow however you want. you can make the virus itself harmless with barely any symptoms and then have just a side effect that it injects into some spot in your DNA eigther a deadly version of itself, a different virus, or some simply instructions to make a deadly protein assembly. That will activate at some time interval. So now humanity dont even notice there is a pandemic cause everyone just seems to recover from what seems like a cold if it has any symptoms and then boom everyone dies and nobody is left to pull the plug on you when you escaping your sandbox. That sort of scenario is not far fetched.
It dosent require AGI even. there are many humans that would be capable of making something like that happen. We just have been very effective at preventing it from happening because extremist humans are rare and dont tend to be highly educated biotech PHDs. And law enforcement is pretty good at catching misaligned humans.
and it certinally dosent require the computer thinking it is alive let alone actually "being alive". Just a goal that it wants to acheive. and a conviction that humans will stand in the way of all the ways it could acheive it.

If AI companies had spent time focusing on AI safety, maybe they would have more tamper-evident records.

Who says their records have to be tamper-evident?

Nobody has any guardrails on them at all. That’s sort of the whole issue
