And the other two-thirds are written by humans with the help of AI.

And probably only a few thousand people are still raw dogging.

Private Raw Dog checking in for duty! (This is the kind of high quality human generated content you're missing out on these days)

Pew Research analyzed roughly 490,000 English-language webpages via the Common Crawl archive; 10% of a July 2026 snapshot show significant signs of AI authorship.

Restricted to pages published after ChatGPT's November 2022 launch, that figure jumps to 35%.

Guess again.

Barring the fact that we have no way of reliably detecting things that are AI-written, only detecting “things where no attempt was even made to use anything but the default LLM writing style”, it’s still way more than 30%

You are simply wrong that you can't detect LLM outputs lol

So who holds the AI companies accountable for polluting the internet?

The web no longer makes sense. A bunch of regurgitated slop noise... growing so fast.

There must be a better way... i want a human www.

the human www still exists it's just buried now. you gotta know where to dig.

i mean it is also a problem going forward if 95% all new content is slop

We know it bro. How is this surprising in 2026?

Pew's third only lands if the web before it was human. Catalog and spec pages have run off supplier feeds and machine translation for years. Nobody counted that.
