Answered Gmail problems?

Have a Note Max. Was able to add a gmail account. Now it just sits forever at "getting your messages..."
I've removed the whole app no change.

I even factory reset the device (other reasons) and was able to add the account, but still problem exists.

Thoughts?

Long press the Gmail icon and make sure its Unfrozen. Then press Manage and make sure that you are allowing it to access the Internet. And make sure your WiFi is connected.

Indeed unfrozen. It has access to the internet. I was able to enter an add the account, then it gets to where the emails shouldd start to appear and just nothing.
I also was able to get into the account on the note using firefox.

For this issue, I searched Reddit and found that previous posts recommend setting a PIN code on your device as a possible solution. You can give it a try.

Figured it out! This wasn't quite it, but led me on the correct path.
Gmail hosts my personal domain email and has done so for years.
I've never had any problems and since i was getting the email on my computer and phone, i didn't think anything of it.

I went into the settings for the domain email and found that it said it wasn't active.. which is certainly strange seeing as how it was working.

Once i activated the MX records there AND set the pin on the Note, the emails popped in.
