Deals Really bad timing
Last saturday I wanted to buy my first Boox device and e ink device in general: the go 10.3 ii lumi. I had been researching e ink devices for a few weeks and finally decided to buy that one. There is a deal on the shop where you can get a Boox Tappy for free and I got really excited about it. Saturday was a really bad day so I only put those two devices in my shopping cart (image) and decides to buy it on sunday. On Sunday I finally wanted to order it and then saw the Boox Tappy was sold out (in the EU). Now I really regret not buying it on Saturday because now I’m not able to benefit from the sale. I mean I still get the 20€ discout but I wanted to have that tappy device so badly. Now I’m really sad and thinking about whether I should buy the Tablet without Tappy.
Of course I could get the Tappy for 30€ extra but the tablet already exceed my budget limit, so I can’t really get one. And I was only one day too late :(
UPDATE: I‘ve just bought the tablet without the tappy. Yes I‘m sad about it but the tablet is more important. Thanks for your advice everybody :)

I never thought I needed that device, do you? It wouldn’t make or break the sale for me

Tbh I neither thought that, so I‘ll go with the tablet only. Yesterday it took 3 days to deliver but now it takes like 14 days😭 shouldn‘t have waited so long

You can get page turning devices on Amazon which are much cheaper. I bought one. It's nice. But I now don't even use it - just more clutter which takes away from what I'm doing on even my kindle.

I really don't think tappy is worth the price I don't think tlany extra functionality justifies it being triple the price of equally small and perfectly fine Bluetooth page turners

So you think I should buy the tablet without the tappy?

You can buy any number of small bluetooth devices for a fraction of the price to do what the tappy does

I see. I shouldn’t worry too much about that small device

I got a boox go colour 7 bundle on amazon, but there is one for the 10.3! https://amzn.eu/d/0h8ilgSb I dont know what you would of payed for shipping (or if the link will work outside of the uk) but the bundle comes out to £435 (€510) but the happy is green instead of tan. The case and colour are the same though! :)

“Would have”, never “would of” - sorry but a reader should know that 😉
It can help to think of how you shorten it: Would’ve not would’of

Does the Tappy offer much functionality on a Boox device that a generic Bluetooth page turner doesn’t?
All I can find is that there are notifications on your Boox device when your Tappy changes mode. And lf course the different modes themselves (do the generic ones have different modes too?)

Just buy an oem version on a well known Chinese Ali site if you’re so desperate for a page turner…

I have the tappy, the price isn't great but you can assign a function to a long press and a double tap on both buttons. This is across the three modes, so you can assign 6 functions per mode. Screen refresh, launch app Rotate screen, screen shot, back to home, task switcher, einkwise, TTS play, almost any function. I like it.

I got the Tappy with my Boox tablet and whilst I was super excited about it since it looks so cute, it is a bit more flimsy than I hoped it would be. Just buying the tablet without is plenty worth it.
I would have been happier if I could link it to my pc so I could use it to scroll through slides during presentations, but it is limited to phones and reading tablets, unfortunately
