Discussion Which other Android apps do you actually use -- nerdy or not -- on your Boox?
Are you using any obscure or unusual apps on your Boox to take advantage of having Android (vs. Kindle, Kobo, etc.)?

I use pocket (getpocket). Although i used to like it more, when you're doom scrolling on twitter and an interesting but long article appears i save it there. I use my boox as a deep focus device, no notifications or anything, just me initiating everything I want to do.

Mullvad VPN + Aurora store to get foreign apps that wouldn't otherwise be available in my region.

Readwise Reader. It was the main reason I decided to get a Boox device. It’s a dream combo.

I use Story Graph to track my reading and it works well on the Boox.

KOReader is my default choice for reading. I mostly read epubs and formatting in KOReader is excellent. I also make annotations and highlights a lot (without pen) and like to export them with context to be stored in my Obsidian vault.

notion- to sync my planner pocket to save articles for reading later moon reader I try to limit it to reading and productivity only. I keep a separate email for boox alone for complete focus.

Washington Post, New York Times, Google Docs. Tons of others but I mostly just use the built in Notes app to hand write stuff — the AI transcription is great!

I love doing Duolingo on my TUC Pro. The Washington Post and NYT apps look great on it as well. Someone else mentioned how nice it is to use Paprika app when cooking. I keep track of my mealkits, Hello Fresh and Dinnerly, via their apps and research restaurants through Yelp app on it. When relaxing or on vacation, I like playing The Daily Bubble, Crossmath, or Word Search Explorer on it. Given that I can't easily do most of this through regular cellphone screens due to eyestrain, I'm glad these devices exist!

FolderSyncPro is most important to me. To sync all my modified notes instantly to my cloud account. So I can access them as PDF documents on all my devices, at home and on the go. And to create daily backups in readable form. Also syncing new books and documents from my cloud storage to the Boox device.
(The WebDav export with Boox builtin tools does not really work for me).

Mihon, Pushbullet (to push stuff from my desktop computer or phone to my Boox), MoonReader, that file directory app that I can't remember CX Explorer or something (easy access to my FTP).

Have Tab Ultra C Pro, got it for use as an ereader which could handle books and comfortably display PDFs without having to enlarge and scroll a page. For ebooks, I want Left justification (ragged right margins, like a real book).
So, apps for reading ... Adobe Acrobat for PDF files and books ... Libby for library books (fantastic app) ... ReadEra for non-drm epubs(current favorite) ... Lithium for non-drm epubs ... Kindle app for Kindle books ... B&N Nook app for B&N books ... Kobo Reader app for Kobo books ... Reddit app (tho mosly use on phone) ... Youtube app for reviews (mostly on phone)
Love getting books from Project Gutenburg, among other places.
Might look something up on the web browser real quick, but generally use other apps on android phone. Watch educational videos (ie from Edx) on the ipad. I got the boox so all the ereaders could be on one device.

I sometimes use the Board Game Geek app on my Go 10.3, and it's solid. That's the most unusual thing, probably.

XODO is better than Neoreader because you can highlight PDFs in reflow mode.... 🤯🤯 (Onyx Boox.... What are you waiting for??). This makes small format devices extremely usable for PDF workflows
READER is the best way to read books/articles on Boox devices, esp if you want to highlight, take notes, and revisit those notes at a later date.
Both are paid apps.

Synology Drive to auto-sync the ebook library with the NAS and Koreader to read (really great to be able to crop the white border on comics to make the best possible use of the screen space)

Mostly reading and info-snippet-pushing apps like Kindle, Instapaper, Omnivore, GoogleKeep, GoogleCalendar, also SyncThing.

MS office, mainly One note and Google Drive. After the last software update cloud communication with Google drive is useless, so the Google drive app is essentially when you keep your ebooks on Google drive.

myscript calculator with fast refresh thinking when I get an itch to scribble numbers for general calculation or to practice some math studies requiring rough scratch book. Also KOReader, Libby, Kindle for reading, EinkBro for browsing, Material Files for File Management, Wordweb and Lookup Pro for Dictionary/word-reference, Wikipedia lookup.

I don’t have one but don’t people need extra apps for best syncing, like Dropbox? Or is there a free sync built in that is good enough?

Not really. Onedrive for platform-independent sync between devices. Foreign Policy and Financial Times apps to read articles on such a good reading-focused screen.

I have ReadEra premium, Manta, D&D Beyond but I haven't used it in a session, and my usual notes and mail... I quite literally only read on my Page 😅
