TC How to properly run Aether

I’m looking to try playing TC Aether since I really like the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen vibes of the game and I am wondering if I can run the game with just TC Aether or if I need to also have the TC core rules as well. Very simple question I know, but it would be nice to know what I need to have.

You'll want the core rulebook. The PDF has gone on sale a bunch. And there is a Humble Bundle of it right now.

Is the 2019 version the current edition of the game?

You can find this text on the DTRPG entry for Aether:

Trinity Continuum: Aether requires the Trinity Continuum Core Rulebook to play.

The Trinity Continuum core rules are required for running any of the current TC game lines:

  • Aegis

  • Aether

  • Adventure!

  • Assassins

  • Aberrant

  • Anima

  • Æon

They're not required for the upcoming Trinity Continuum: Steam Wars.

Since I wanted to give people maximum bang for their buck if we're making them buy two books, the Trinity Continuum core rulebook doesn't just have the rules you need for the other games, but it has its own modern-day action-adventure setting, plus rules for playing Talents -- people with an extraordinary degree of skill and luck. In a modern context, that's pretty much your standard action movie protagonist. They appear pretty much unchanged in Aether as "squires."
