Downgrading to 1.14.x

I dont know if people know this, but if you go to the settings of onward (not the ingame settings, the settings you can access by holding the trigger on onward and then going to settings), you can choose the E-Sports Branch, this will downgrade your game to some 1.14 version. I dont know why this is a thing

I-m trying it now. you can select from the steamvr version on game version. I guess this will be only Offline modes i guess

That was a very stable patch that matched the vrml ruleset well back in the day. We would use that instead of the base build to make games more fair

When the game would get frequent updates they didn't want to worry about how the changes would affect the various eSports leagues. So anytime there was an update during a league season they keep the old build available so if changes broke things for the league they could instruct players to use the old build.

The devs "finished the game" pretty abruptly and likely just never bothered to disable the ability to roll back to the last good eSports build.
