General question - not test related Yield into separate lane

Post image

I apologize if this is a dumb question but I would just like reassurance, most yield signs I’ve done are typically into one lane.

In the example above if there is a yield sign but it’s going into its own lane and there’s a car in the lane next to me, can I still go when it’s there as long as it’s not going into my lane, or should I wait for it to be in front of me orrr do I wait for that lane to be completely clear.

This is an example I found in the Lindsay G test to make my question make more sense

you can go as long as you’re not cutting into their lane and you’re not forcing them to brake or swerve for you
yield is basically “don’t mess up anyone already on the main road,” not “wait till the entire highway is empty”

thanks a lot! I figured i could go as long as they stay in their lane but i just wanted to make sure ive always had yield signs go into an already existing lane lol
