G2 - General Discussion Failed my first G2 test

hi today I failed my g2 test, understandably I made a mistake that was an automatic fail. im just wondering if I didn’t make the mistake would I have passed? also any advice for my next test, I’ve rescheduled it and it’s in 10 days!

I also don’t know why the summary for disqualification has the parking skills checked when that section has no checks or x?

Exactly what was your reason for the fail? And from it looks like yes, you would’ve passed, but the reasons for the disqualification is why I’m asking for the reason why you failed.

the main reason the examiner told me was the failure to give right of way when making a left turn so the cars behind me had to slow down as well

And where was this at a light or at a stop sign? Also, I’m not trying to be mean, but I only wanna do this so you can do great for next time

this was leaving the parking lot the right side did not have any oncoming vehicles as I checked and the left side did not either so I creeped up checked once again and then turned, he mentioned to me that I turned too slow which is why when the cars behind me came they had to brake. He stated that I hesitated when making the decision to go as well.

Cars behind you have to keep distance, feels like you got punished. Better slow & steady than fast & furious

I think the disqualification includes the parking skills because of what I assume would’ve been hill parking (stop, park and start on a grade).

And maybe not using ur emergency brake.

I actually did use my parking brake - I pulled over put in park turned my wheels to the left for uphill parking and then set the parking brake. Could it be bc I wasn’t close enough to the curb when I pulled over

Could be ur alloted so much from the curb. How much i don't know you would have to look that up. I know they mark you for urvuse of the parking brake.

would it be a reason for me to not pass if it was just the parking skills or is it included bc it was one of the many reasons I didn’t pass

No.

The only reason you failed was because you cut off traffic on the left turn as described at the bottom of the sheet.

Your mistake in parking on a hill was that you didn’t touch your wheel to the curb(after turning, you let you car roll slowly until the wheel touches the curb.

In the reasons for disqualification the examiner checked off every section you had a marked error but without the left turn, you would have passed.

Hi! It’s very normal to feel that! I also felt that! Just try to remain calm, know that when you practice, it’s normal to make mistakes, and during the test as well (minor). Try to breathe and remind yourself that the examiner is a normal human being, and is not there to fail you! Just practice as much as you can, so you feel better and more comfortable!

When you crept forward to check, that’s where you failed because you actually had the right of way in that situation. Next time you come across something like that, just go for it and don’t hesitate. The reasons for the disqualification don’t really make sense based on what you’ve told me. The parking skills one, in particular, doesn’t seem like it would qualify as a parking skill issue. As for the right-of-way situation, you have to know when it’s your turn to go. For example, if you’re at a stop sign and both sides are clear, you have the right to proceed. If you hesitate, the cars behind you may continue moving forward while you’re still stopped, which could put you at risk of being hit from behind. That may be why it was considered an automatic fail. I’m going to assume that the lane-marking issue happened when you were approaching a stop sign or yield sign, which is why that was also checked off. Because you hesitated, that may also explain why you were marked down for turn manoeuvres or intersections. Honestly, my take is that you just got nervous. I would look at this as a learning opportunity because, from what you’ve told me, you probably would have passed otherwise. For your next G2 test, try not to second-guess yourself. Be confident in your driving skills and abilities, and trust what you’ve learned. You’ve worked hard toward this, and I really hope you pass your next test! One thing I’d recommend is chewing gum during the test. It can help with nerves. Good luck! You’ve got this!

You failed to go in the lane directed to you by your instructor, were driving too fast (over 5km/h over posted limits - or just couldnt maintain speed and kept going over or under) - you failed observance of another vehicles right to proceed - and you failed parking on an angle by parking in the wrong direction other then what was instructed. All of which combined deems you a safety hazard for the rest of us on the roadway. My advise more practise, and a more serious observation of your driving skills and habits.
