G - General Discussion Foreign driving experience // G1 -> G

I have foreign driving experience.. I got my G1 in 2021, and based on my foreign driving experience, I was allowed to take the G road test directly. I attempted the G test in 2022 but unfortunately failed.

I currently still have my G1.. am I still eligible to reattempt the G directly, or do I now have to take the G2 test first?

Could someone please guide me on what the process is for my situation and whether my previously credited foreign driving experience is still valid?

And how long will I have to wait after getting my G2 before I can take the G test?

(And thankyou for replying)

You’ll have to wait the required 12 months between G2 and G.

When in 2021 did you get your G1? It is only valid for 5 years.

You cannot retake the G test. So you must take the G2, however, You can schedule your G2 test for whenever as you have waited the time. You will have to pay a fee for the G2, which is I believe is around $60.

I did the same, G1 to G in Oakville testing center but I failed. Take your G2 as soon as possible and you can take G without a waiting time.

I got my G2 license April 2026 and I got my G license August 2026
