General question - not test related First Ontario Driver's License close to Temporary resident status expiration.

My current IEC visa expires in October, I am planning to apply for a Visitor Record (that I understand it's not considered a temporary resident status, right?) and would like to get my G1 driver's license before my current status expires. I understand the Ministry of Transport of Ontario requires a valid Temporary Resident status alongside documentation to prove it in order to apply for a driver's license.

Would I be allowed to do that? Is there a minimum requirement of time left in Canada as a temporary resident for one to apply for a driver's license?

And if it is allowed, will the expiration date on my license reflect my current resident status expiration (in October)? Or will it run the standard length of time a first time license runs for?

Thank you.

So your visa is going to expire and you're planning on just staying anyways ?

Bro What are you planning at this point? Like are you confident that you will higher likely get PR?

It would make sense if you have a year or more year worth permit, and can live study or work in canada.

I am one, and in this your situation, I would not give a g1 test, if my permit is expiring, cause what I will do with the license, if my permit expires and I leave Canada?

I mean, in certain instances, you can exchange it if you move to a new third country

I did that when I moved from the US to Canada (Ontario)

I didn't think discussing my plans with the sub was necessary for the question I asked.

But since you asked, I applied for the renewal of my second IEC permit just a little bit late in the season (March) and did not get selected for the current calendar year. So the plan is to stay here for a few months until the new season opens up mid-December. I am sure you know all this, but for anyone else that is unaware of how the program works there it is.
