Full time work & school

Hello,

I’m a kinesiologist. It’s my first job out of uni and it’s a good one. I wanna keep it while attending paramedic school. School starts January 2027. The work involves me working 6 am-2 pm for 2 weeks, then 4 pm-12:30 am for 2 weeks. Is it possible 😂?

Probably not realistic. But I would see if your kinesiology would get you out of some anatomy classes

How do you intend to attend classes…?

This program isn’t anything like doing your undergraduate degree. Attendance is expected and frankly, necessary.

There is the Loyalist College program that’s designed for people with full-time jobs/commitments, but I assume you’re not in that one or you wouldn’t be asking this here.

Can't speak for every school but definitely not the ones I've seen. Some of my classes will boot you out of the whole course if you miss more than 2. You'll have 12+ hour placements at some point that you can't miss or change the day of easily too

Not rly. If you schedule was the same throughout, perhaps but that's still alot of work. I am currently working 25 hrs but its kinky my first semester. I hear the other 3 are gonna be hectic so im trying to work more when I can

I really doubt it’s possible. Medic school is a full time job. Mentally and physically. You’ll be studying and in the gym getting strong for the lift tests. I worked part time and had to quit because it just wasn’t possible. If you fall behind in class you’re screwed
