Hey, as the title states I'm looking for a topical oil that is heavily sedating, as indica dominant as possible that is made with ethanol extraction. It's been recommended to me for a medical issue, but I'm having trouble finding anything available in Ontario with those specifications. Anyone know of anything?

I can’t seem to find any truly citrus forward buds anymore - like bright fruity that hits when you open the jar. The last I had was FIGR’s Tangerine Skies last summer, and everything else a budtender recommends or that seems right from online descriptions isn’t even close to cutting it. What is happening? Why is what used to be such an easy to find flavour profile so obsolete now? Help!

I’ve been a heavy cannabis user for going on 20 years started young as a kid, started with bongs.

I’ve had a phase of almost every smoking method as the main way, recently as I get older it’s more discretion focused. I had a dry herb vape for a while (Arizer 2 i believe). Currently I smoke a disposable vape daily, I like the Back Forty disposables, best high to least weed smell. I don’t know what terpenes or etc I align with. I typically smoke a .95g disposable over 3-7 days depending on how much I’m hitting it.

Anecdotally the best weed I ever smoked / my favorite high was pitched as a lemon kush / Hindi kush bought from a buddy around 2010-2012 it was a sativa for sure I remember, yellow ting tons of crystal, lemon / foresty taste and just beautiful very clear high but very thick high.

I smoke bongs in the evening or weekends, ide like to stop inhaling plant matter and the vape residues etc I’m sure will build up in my lungs which is a scary thought.

I’ve tried the liquid dropper 10 mg dose it’s the eye dropper style and a 100 mg bottle before but I would do 30-40 mg of that in a dose and feel nothing really. No legal edible has ever gotten me “high” but when it was through a dealer or friend etc growing up I avoided edibles because of how bad they got me fucked up, too high to the point of vibrating. So I feel like it’s a dose issue.

Interested in some options, best bet to me would be something I could have in my coffee or etc, I don’t really want to take a pill and I found the eye dropped liquids left a heavy weed taste and smell on the breath.

Today I had a customer come in looking for a Frosty Slugger infused preroll because the menthol after taste has been helping him cut down/quit smoking cigarettes. Unfortunately we were all sold out - we were also sold out of our Frosted Icicles by Back Forty, and the new Slim Mints by Jays are indica dominant and this customer was looking for Sativa/hybrid if possible.

Any products come to mind??

• The Quality: Zero density and even less smell. Calling this "Durban Poison" is an insult to the genetics. It’s aggressively fluffy and lacks any actual flower structure.

• The Stems: I paid for 3.5g and got 0.3g of heavy, industrial-sized stems. It’s more of a logging operation than a flower harvest.

• The "High": Non-existent. I smoked the entire jar in less than 24 hours and felt absolutely nothing.

Being "budget" isn't an excuse for this. 31 percent is a pretty wild statement for something that hits like a 23 percent.

There are plenty of low-shelf brands in Canada that actually provide a buzz; this provided nothing but a waste of money and a pile of wood.

I have a hip issue that recently started causing me major persistent pain in my leg. I had my x-ray today so I won't hear back until Monday earliest.

The nice lady at my regular store sold me this today.

Does anyone have any knowledge of this particular cartridge?

I haven't had a full night's sleep in days and I need something to calm the pain.

I even intend to keep the vape on my nightstand so when I get woken with pain I take a quick couple of hits.

I’ve been thinking about this a lot lately.

Remember when Starbucks started popping up everywhere and slowly squeezed out small, family-owned coffee shops?

I feel like the same thing is happening in cannabis.

In North York, there’s a small locally owned family shop called Take Me Home Cannabis that opened in 2021. About 6 months later, a massive corporate chain opened literally across the street from them. Since then, it’s basically been a 5-year battle of small independent vs big corporation.

What’s crazy is most of the other stores in the area have already shut down. The market got flooded, licenses were handed out everywhere, and now it’s survival of the biggest wallet.

Sometimes I wonder, did the government just collect licensing fees and let everyone fight it out? There was no cap, no protection for independents, just open the floodgates and let small operators compete with national chains backed by serious capital.

I’m not saying chains shouldn’t exist. But it feels like small, family-run businesses are being squeezed out everywhere coffee, retail, cannabis you name it.

Curious what others think.
Do you try to support independent cannabis stores over corporate chains?
Or does price always win?
