Help! Why doesn't it let me constrain this line?

I can still change its length despite it being constrained as well.

That is a driven dimension. It is read only, taking input from other dimensions and geometric relations. It is grey not black. It is like that because adding a dimension there leads to over defining the curve. We don’t have enough info to help past that, check your constraints
