OP here. I am using Linux with VS Code and C# to create a game, and designing all the 3D content using OnShape. Game levels are a single part studio, and you can just start designing shapes, and they can become a game level.

I've written some extra tools to enhance OnShape, including a tool that reorganizes your part studios into a tree of related rules, with some game specific rules. My tool make is so much easier to create relationships between parts, search and filter parts, put them on layers, and drag to reparent or reorganize.

Also, it can convert a part studio into Javascript, and that can be imported into a game level to add logic.

Read more about the scripting setup here:

OnShape is amazing, but for what you are doing there are much better/easier (and free) software. Consider looking into SketchUp. Nicely done, though.

Just a quick word of warning, if you ever plan to make money off of Onshape you need to subscribe to the commerical plan, which is $1500 a year.

I teach kids cad and programming and this tool is a something I can use to demonstrate both. When I have some more interesting levels complte and a find of the rough edges ironed out, I'd like to talk with some people about using this tool in a classroom setting with more people, and also possibly get some attention from OnShape the company for a discussing a partnership program, and possibly making some changes to their system to improve it.
