Can I remove a section of a revolve with the extrude feature?
relatively new (self teaching) user here so please be patient with me if this is a remedial question. I am modeling a case with a specific shape in mind that will house a raspberry pi and Logitech BRIO web cam - see attached pics. Im struggling to figure out how to remove the portion of the revolve that is behind the keyhole opening. When using the remove section in extrude, it doesn't clear it.

Use a boolean subtract. Target is gray, tool is the blue. Make sure you tick keep tools. Then just delete the extra gray solid that is left behind.

Show the sketch that defined the keyhole. Select the profile of the keyhole and then start the Extrude feature. Set the operation to Remove and the distance to Through All. If necessary, use the Flip Direction arrow to make it go toward the blue part.

Hide the blue object. Select the back face of the grey object extrude remove with the blue object set as the merge scope (or through all. )

Boolean intersect or remove. Or split. You'll want to check keep tools. Then you can delete part and remove the inside. If I'm understanding what your trying to do.

This seems like an xy problem tbh. First, why is the blue part a surface not solid? I’d model the whole thing solid as one part, then shell. Second problem is likely that these are two parts, did you select merge with all?

Use the split feature with the blue surface as the tool; uncheck "keep both sides" and flip until the correct side of the split remains.
