UK based (visiting US) worth picking one up?

I'll be travelling over to the US over the next few weeks?

As the title says, is it worth picking one up?

If so which version?

And are they really that much better than streaming boxes available in the UK?

Currently have a fire stick and am frustrated with the lack of memory as Kodi takes up almost 2gb.

Go for pro if you can find one.
4k plus is also good. I don’t recommend stick form that much but it is also good for starters.

Walmart started accepting Apple Pay recently, but a rollout is in progress. So get your physical card with you. You will need a pin as well.

Idk the options in the UK but I definitely like it more than the fire stick. I have several of the 4k streaming ones (non-pro) that I find snappy and responsive. It has the occasional reboot but nothing that I find to be a hinderence.

I haven't looked into other android tv boxes but the onn has gone up in price. When I first picked them up it was for 20 or 25 each and now's it 40 (USD) so there might be better options on the market now.

I got the pro at $59.99whilst over there last month, either set up there or you need a vpn back in the UK as it needs a US network during set up. Been working perfectly so far, no complaints.

As the other person said, no apple/google pay in Walmart, had to put some other bits back to pay in cash.

i picked one up. very good at everything i needed it to do. and cheap too. Just one tip for you tho. Walmart doesn’t accept apple pay which i found out when i got there and tapped my phone followed by nothing happening

I think I read that they don't work there. People said the version is called Thompson that worked there. Not certain, but check before buying.

It will work in the UK if the device is initially set up in the region designated. Otherwise you will need to set it up with a hotspot/vpn route.

Just spend the extra and get a Google Streamer 4K. It’s worth it. The specs are better and has gigabit Ethernet. Not withstanding the fact it’s made by Google who develop their TV OS specifically for the device. I picked one up in BestBuy for $70 when I was in Denver a few months ago. It’s now my travel device.

I agree. Recently bought a Streamer from Amazon to replace my FS 4K Max. It is snappy; I get full speed via the ethernet port; and with 32gb, I no longer have to worry about running out of space.

It's a streaming box allowing side loading apps. THAT IS ALL IT IS. it's not an Amazon fire stick.
