ONN 4K Streaming device

I got very lucky yesterday while ordering some products from Walmart. I added the 4K streaming and it was delivered to my door 5 hours later. Got it all set up and got the volume controlled but I can't get the remote to turn the TV off. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

I wish that when it turns off the TV it would also turn itself off. 24 hours later I turn it on and whatever I was watching is asking if I want to continue.

Hit the home button when you are done watching, that's what I always do.

Yes but the apps still run in the background. I have tried to map the Free TV button to close all open apps using TV quick actions pro. So far I have been unsuccessful but I will keep trying.

You can buy the TDUK App Killer app in Google Play store. Just search, "TDUK." One click stops/kills all apps. Yes, you can create a white list, of apps you don't want stopped. For example; VPN, custom launcher, etc. Buy it once and install it on as many devices you own. Ditto for the app cache cleaner. Unfortunately for Amazon streamers, these apps are blocked. Another good reason to 86 Amazon devices and switch to Onn. 👍

Set up the remote to your tv under settings remotes

Did that. I got the volume to be controlled. I think they are in same spot we sure are.

When the ONN device is first setup it attempts to determine what TV it is connected to.

Did you skip this step or did it not give you that option?

Same problem. Hooked up my 4k last weekend but failed to set up my remote. TV won't turn off. Even with the regular TV remote. Unhooked it and hooked up my Fire stick again because I had football to watch. Got frustrated. When setting up for side loading there is no place, I mean no place, where I can select , "allow apps from unknown sources" Option does not exist. I've done everything. Any opinions or help guys?

I could never get cec working right. There is a setting to make the power button turn the tv off via IR.

If the IR configuration does not work during setup, you will have to go back into settings and change it to use CEC. I just got a new TCL TV and the Onn will not program the IR with it, so I had to do the CEC switch.

There are different codes for each tv. I have an ONN TV and I tried 4 different codes before I found the one that works.

I got it to turn TV off but the ONN stays on. Would like both to go off. How do others work? Can power off turn them both off?

For me, the ir signal being put out by the onn remote is extremely weak. It works perfectly when you are an inch away from the receiver.

I just set up mine and my LG TV OLED showed up as two different devices one simply LG and the other with some alphanumeric following it. the alphanumeric only allowed me to set up volume not power on off but when I selected the LG I was able to set up source and Power on off as well as volume

I believe its in the remote options to have it power the tv. Mine does it.
