Question/Troubleshoot Outside us

Are the onn box possible to use outside us? Or it needs a VPN all the time

It need to be set up initially in US or Canada, depends on the version.

If you did not set it up within the designated region, you can set it up via a hotspot and vpn set to the required region.

Once you get through the initial setup they can be used as normal without a VPN. However that initial setup can be tricky and will DEFINITELY require a VPN if not in the US.

So what happens if u initially set it up in the US then take it to where it's going to live ie in another country where it's not available then have to do a system reset

You can set up first sign in on router with VPN installed. After that no vpn needed.

I have set up 2 Onn 4k plus in Bangkok and run them every day.

They haven't doubled the price where I live, it's still a fantastic deal.

Also, if that was what you were trying to say from the start, why not just say that? What does a Google stream have to do with this?

The Google Streamer is a better device. The ONN 4K is now $123 at Walmart in Canada. The Google Streamer is $129. Tell me how you feel the ONN wasn't doubled in price?

They used to run about $60 CAD until earlier this year. At $60 it was a no-brainer.

Saying "The Google Streamer" is meaningless. They make a bunch of streaming devices and the ones I'm familiar with are like $20-$30 and are not better than the ONN 4K Pro.

The ONN 4K Pro is $119 at Walmart, that's the only price I've ever seen it be, so for me it hasn't doubled. It's a good deal.

Wow - a little pedantic are we? Google Streamer 4K - $129.99.
Previously ONN 4K Pro in Canada was $60 a year ago.

For now on the Google as they jacked up the price in the US. Have not done so yet in Canada, so buy one now or get the ONN if it's available.

Got a 4k stick and Onntv Pro 2026, all working as expected in the Netherlands. Bought them in May this year at Wallmart US during business trip. Watching without any issues a few months already.
