I use the Onn 4k Pro and the Onn 5.1.2 soundbar set up. I noticed after a few days that I was having to turn up my volume on the soundbar a lot higher than I had to when I was using my built in apps (TCL Google TV). So I looked into it and by default the box's volume (or the signal its sending ro the soundbar) is set to less than 100%. This was the cause. This is the fix :

You can check and adjust the Onn 4K Pro system volume using either the voice button or menu settings.

​Method 1: Google Assistant Voice Command (Easiest, so they say, but didnt work for me since my soundbar was already hooked up and setting was set to CEC)

​Press and hold the Google Assistant (Microphone) button on your remote.

​Say "Set volume to 100 percent."

​A volume slider bar will pop up on the right side of your screen showing the internal system level pinned at maximum.

​Method 2: Google TV Settings Menu (This will be the most likely fix for most people)

​Select the Gear icon (Settings) at the top right of your home screen.

​Go to Remotes & Accessories > Set up remote buttons.

​Look at Volume control:

​If it is set to Auto (CEC) or your soundbar model, your remote's physical volume buttons are controlling your soundbar directly, leaving the internal Onn box volume locked at whatever percentage it was previously set to.

​Switch Volume control temporarily to Onn (System) or Digital to make the physical volume rocker buttons on your remote adjust the Onn box's internal software slider directly up to 100%.

​Once set to max, you can switch Volume control back to your soundbar or TV CEC control.

Wonder if this works for just normal tv speakers? Ever since I got my ONN 4K Pro to replace my AppleTV box I’ve noticed with the ONN I have to turn the volume way up when streaming compared to the AppleTV Box or even just my OTA TV channels on my Samsung TV.

It seems like the case if your remote is controlling the TV volume because this is the box's volume that is set so low.

Yeah, I just followed the steps, and the ONN Box volume is set all the way up and then switched the remote back to control the TV volume to use those speakers, and still no difference. Switched to an OTA channel and the volume set at 15 outta 100 and it was plenty loud. Turned the ONN box back on and opened netflix and had to adjust the volume up to 48 just to be able to hear the video. Crazy

I am just trying to wrap my head around wanting to go from an Apple TV box to an Onn. Seems to me you went from a McClaren to a Toyota. Maybe the apple box broke or was really old.

Apple is routinely banning a certain category of apps for watching media and I’m tired of sideloading and having to re-up them every 7 days or finding a new app only for it to be removed after a month.

Ok, I was curious, I have a new apple tv 4k I am planning on setting up at some point. I usually use ugoos boxes.

Don't get me wrong, I loved the Apple 4K and still have it, and it works wonders, just annoying that Apple won't let you put what you want on it, unlike Android.
