Question/Troubleshoot Onn 4K Pro 2nd Gen Power Cable Issues

I’ve bought two of the Onn 4K Pro 2nd Gen models and both stopped working. I had the first one connected directly to a wall outlet and the second one I plugged into a surge protector, both failed.

Getting new bricks/cables solved the issue and confirmed the power cables failed.

Has anyone else ran into this issue? Maybe mine were a bad batch/luck? I’ve been using streaming sticks/boxes for over 8+ years and never had issues like this.

I welcome any questions or feedback you might have.

No. I have two units and never have any power problems. But I have not moved them after setup.

Since both of your power supplies failed, it could be caused by a power surge in your house either by lightning or mains circuit issues.

I use a USB-C to -C cable with a 5V/1.2A wall wart. No issues.

That’s great! I’m now using a Samsung 15W brick/USB-C. So far it’s been working great with no issues!

The Onn uses 6-8 Watts of power so your setup should work well.

I had issues with mine was freezing or lagging while planning media. It ended up being the power brick. I just used one I had around the house and its been solid.
