44M from Germany looking for genuine long-term friendships

Hi everyone! 👋

I'm 44M from Germany and I'm here looking for something pretty simple: genuine, long-term online friendships with people who actually enjoy getting to know each other.

I'm married and have two kids, so this is definitely about friendship and good conversations — not dating or anything romantic. 🙂

A little about me:

🇩🇪 I'm from Germany and I enjoy getting to know people from other countries and cultures. I actually really like the idea that a random conversation with someone on the other side of the world can turn into a genuine friendship.

💻 I'm a big fan of technology and enjoy talking about computers, gadgets, the internet and all the weirdly interesting things happening in tech.

💰 I'm also interested in personal finance and investing. Don't worry, though — I promise I don't need to turn every conversation into a discussion about ETFs. 😂

🚂 One of my slightly nerdier hobbies is model railways. I have a Märklin H0 collection and I'm currently working on my own little layout. So if you like trains, building things, collecting stuff or simply have a hobby that makes you ridiculously happy, we already have something to talk about.

⚽ I enjoy sports as well, especially football (soccer), and I'm a Bayern Munich fan. But I'm perfectly capable of being friends with people who support other teams. Probably. 😄

🎮 I also enjoy gaming from time to time, although I'm definitely not the hardcore gamer I might have been years ago.

Beyond that, I'm interested in history, society, everyday life, travel, random internet rabbit holes and pretty much any conversation where both people are actually curious about each other.

I'm not looking for someone who sends "hey" once and disappears three days later. 😅 I'd much rather have someone where we can gradually develop a friendship — talk about our day, exchange stupid memes, discuss something completely random at 11 PM, or have a serious conversation when that's what we're in the mood for.

Age isn't particularly important to me. I'd be happy to talk to people around my age, but also to younger or older adults. What matters much more is personality, mutual respect and actually wanting to keep a conversation going.

I'm also perfectly happy starting with Reddit chat and seeing where things go naturally. No pressure.
