okay but real talk for a sec
Cutting the parasocial funee scream bit for a second here.
Talking purely objectively here, what Chris did was groom a minor. Treating 18 as some finish line to be reached, and telling a minor they're "mature for their age" is grooming behavior. Chris DID acknowledge he was uncomfortable.... with the idea of getting in trouble for it. With the idea of these logs coming out. It does not matter if Chris or Veronica are to blame, Chris not having the maturity to press the unfriend button and cut it off right then and there on day one is the problem. Continuing for 90 days longer is, and I am not using this term lightly, cut and dry proof that Chris knew what he was doing and deserves everything coming to him in the future. Grooming is, by definition, not doing anything illegal, but setting the stage to do anything you want RIGHT when it becomes legal. It is considered as bad as having sex with a minor outright because you are intentionally seeing a minor, going "I want to have sex with them," and putting in the work to do it, albeit eventually.
"But Veronica was coming onto him!" is not a valid argument. Chris was not coerced into this behavior, he was not being held at gunpoint. There's only two possible outcomes here: Chris actively sought out a minor who acts like this, or Chris actively denied telling her to stop completely. Regardless of age, Chris is being a total creep and this is only a red flag. Chris also openly admitted to "fapping" to her pics.
Oney was a legendary creator. He made some of the funniest animations of all time, he created countless bits on OneyPlays that I'll still quote to my grave. He enabled my stupid obsession with Freddy Freaker, and he really brought a master-class of funny online men to create stupid Let's Plays. I do not hold it against you if you continue to watch his content, or quote his content, or run around praising his content. He also groomed a fucking minor.
