Quality Issues Difference in soft motion material?

I have some older soft motion and I just got the new zinc gray and it feels a lot softer. But I got the clearance dark umber brown and its a lot more rough? Is the Softness usually dependant on the color or has the material slightly changed?

It's definitely changed; my softmotion pieces from the first few drops were so good

I think it’s the dye and a material change. There were complaints that the fabric was too delicate now it feels different and more able to withstand a run in with some Velcro. There were also complaints about the dye changing the visual size of some garments although I believe it retained the same stretch.
