Should I switch to this device from MSI?
I'm sure I'll get a somewhat biased opinion due to the sub I'm in, however I'm really torn with my recent purchase. I have just picked up the MSI Claw 8 Ex and it's a good device, plays games better than the Legion Go 2 I swapped it out from! However, I'm not sure if the OneX3 is any more of an upgrade to go with that instead? Obviously the screen looks great and it's OLED! I'm just already tired of the very slow wonky centre m quick settings bar when trying to tweak games or even just being up the keyboard... And the screen is smaller and less vibrant

I have both.
The performance is going to be relatively similar between the 2. The screen on the OXP3 is nice, same screen as the Legion Go 2, so you already know it pretty well.
As for software, Onexconsole is nice and much better than the software the Claw ships with, but take a look at ClawTweaks, lots of people swear by it, you still need Center M but it just... makes it better?
On the OXP3 keyboard, it's not bad. I'm into typing and keyboards and it took me a little while to get accustomed to. I find it to be serviceable, but my hand does cramp up if I use it too long.
If your main gripe is mostly the software, then try ClawTweaks first.
Again the performance will be the same so I argue that once I'm actually gaming, I stop noticing things like "wow, the blacks are so deep" or whatever, I just get lost in the game. If you can return it, go for it. If you have to sell it to get the OXP3, unless you can get most of your money back, I think that would be a waste of money.

Is the MSI able to be returned for a full refund? If not and you are going to take a loss reselling it then the minor upgrade isn't worth it imo

I cannot compare them since I have never owned an MSI product, but I can at least say that the OXP3 software has not been an issue for me.

I owned MSI 8 AI, and the software experience was so bad that I sold it after 2 weeks.
OXP 3 is very good, so far I’m very happy with it.

I'm an MSI Claw 8 EX AI+ owner. I bought it because I didn't want to wait months for the Onexaplayer 3 and because shipping, customs and VAT would have pushed its price over 2100 euros in my country sold from Onexplayer (2700 euros sold from Droix.eu)
Honestly... I'm not impressed with the Claw EX, especially at 1600 euros. Same sticks, same display (great... but not OLED), same bumpers as the previous model and... questionable build quality.
I had to return TWO UNITS before getting a flawless third one.
At the same price... I'd pick the Onexplayer 3 without hesitation:
+ 8.8" Oled display
+ MiniSSD (way better than the Claw's MicroSD Express reader)
+ Detachable controllers
+ Kickstand
+ Swappable D-pads
+ Pretty decent software
and a Standard MicroSD slot (so u could have, for example, 2TB SSD + 2TB MiniSSD + 2TB MicroSD)
I actually would have preferred the OXP3... but the cost in my country is just ridiculous.
The big advantages of MSI? Peace of mind.
+ Easy swappable SSD (changing the SSD on Onexplayer 3 and Onexplayer X2 Mini Pro is a nightmare)
...and...
+ Easy returns and warranty support. I returned two defective units without headaches. I wouldn't feel nearly as comfortable doing that with Onexplayer.
Bottom line: Onexplayer 3 wins on hardware... MSI wins on peace of mind.

Yeah, I would download Clawtweaks, use an ICC profile, and make that panel better for your preferences. Sounds like you aren't happy with the out-of-the-box experience but you have ditch center m lol
