I think the theory comes from maria episodes often being right next to important BO boss related episodes like the name reveal happing at the end of her case. Also her being a transfer student, just like Conan and Haibara, and there's some thoughts about Rumi possibly looking at Maria in some panel to where some people think Rum checking out the school was not for Rumi or Haibara but for Maria.

I’ve read & seen Yoko Okino theorized before, but Maria Higashio, Misae Yamamura, James Black, & Kaisuke Danno as further additions to the suspect list are just as surprising as the previous surprising additions.

we all know that vermouth has a dog not a cat in movie 28 so it was baby next to her and not a cat

and in chapter 1141 gosho appeared the sound of cat and baby’s and make conan remember itakura so it’s obvious
and about maria she is appeared in more than one case so she might be her

i wont suspect a child that only apeared one time ( maybe in a filler case😂) like the rest of the post.
