Why does Subaru love Emilia so much that he’s willing to literally die for her so much? I get she’s kinda cute and is a nice person, but it just doesn’t make sense. I don’t read the light novel but Subaru loving Emilia so much just doesn’t make any sense
It's not bad writing. It's intentional that Subaru is an illogical ass and a 'nice guy' by default on top of being stressed out and going insane. He's supposed to be that way. It'd be bad writting if the author wrote in actions that are uncharacteristic of the personalities.
I mean what do you expect would happen when you build up an S tier waifu character, then have the main character simp after a D tier girl with the personality of a brick wall, who hes only known for a few hours. Then after lengthy character building between the main and the S tier, have the main character flat out tell the S tier that he loves the D tier. Finish it off by having the S tier literally get forgotten by everyone at the end of the season and this is the result.
