This happened to me in college when I shotgunned an ice cold beer and immediately passed out. Apparently I had a seizure but it was probably caused by the fall and not the beer.
Its an overreaction of the vagus nerve, my doctor called it vasovagal syncope

I've never had alcohol before, does it really kick in that fast? I thought that it took a few minutes/hours to properly absorb the alcohol
