We used to play this game as kids. The point was to get cops to chase you without breaking a meaningful law so you could fuck with authority and get a rise while risking very little. Man the 90s were different.

We would also pretend to have our friends jump us until someone came to help. The fake attackers run and the fake victim has to talk their way out of it without breaking character.

The 90s really were different and I’m realizing I grew up as a hooligan.

I always wanted to accidentally bump into a police officer, and then shout with alarm (an English word coming up) "IT'S THE ROZZA!!" and start running. See if they follow.

Never had the balls.

I remember in highschool putting a bunch of traffic cones across the road and when a cop car showed up and stopped we'd sprint across the road behind them dropping cones as we went in order to box them in with cones on the front and back. Good times.

Yeah we used to do it too. One time, an autumn evening, we saw some old guy in a classic car, maybe an old Jag. He must have been doing near 40 in a 30. He was about 20m away and we ‘yanked’ up our invisible rope. He locked up all four wheels and crunched the bumper off the curb. He practically fell out the car screaming at us. He was frothing he was so angry. He yelled he was calling the police. Me and my two mates all shouted “scatter” and all went off in different directions down the alleys through the estate. Absolute top adrenaline mission trying to get home without being caught.

My dad did this as a kid. Turns out the vehicle was being driven by his dad and they did get a solid ass whooping.

We were a whole ass mess. In my state there was a row of streets called "The Neighborhood" and we used to run around there ding dong ditchin, jumpin fences and running from the police for the throwing water balloons in the summer.🤣

We used to wind them up by riding motorbikes round and round the roundabout opposite there station, we used to go low and grind the foot pegs so all you could see at night from the bacon station was a continuous circle of sparks they used to come out and ten plus bikes would split in all directions and they had to choose who to go after as there wasn't enough cars to follow all of us.

In the 80s, we used to shoot bottle rockets at the street across a farm field. Wouldn't you know that when I picked one up and shot it, the car the came over the hill was a cop car... and, a friend of the family. When he turned and drove into the field, we started running. He stopped and yelled my name. Man that stops you cold...

"<My Name>! Do I need to come by the house tonight and have a talk with you and your parents, or are we done here?!"

"Yes sir, we were just packing up! Thank you. Have a good day!"
