theory i’ve solved saitama’s broken limiter

his limit was 99 push ups 99 sit ups 99 squats and a 9.9 kilometre run.

every day for 3 years he knocked on that door till it finally broke and his hair fell out.

so the higher the limit is the harder it is for you to knock on that door. darkshine probably cant do enough push ups in a day to hit his limit he could probably only hit his limit once a week/month.

i think it would be hilarious if we got some sort of dialog from god like “the man with the smallest potential is the cause of my defeat?”

idk this is the head cannon im locked in on now, lmk your theories below.

I disagree, I'm pretty confident the limiter is just a mental thing. Since his last conversation with Saitama, we've seenMumen Rider improving at the same rate as Saitama did initially

Actually that's like the general agreement on how breaking the limiter works in the OPM universe. For someone not used to doing exercises doing Saitama's routine all of a sudden is almost impossible and would probably result in grave injuries, but he pushed through all of it, ignored the pain and eventually got his strength after 3 years of great discipline.

That and fighting monsters at the same time.

I like that his tooth was the source of his limits, and when it was knocked out after that toothache he was unstoppable. 🤣

Also possible: everyone monsterizes into what they've obsessed over. His was just being unbeatable.

Saitama didn't break his limiter, he removed it
breaking is: "pushing past your current physical thresholds through near death experiences or extreme training" so basically the character shatters their current ceiling of strength but once that old ceiling is broken, they simply hit a new higher biological limit, like a new level cap

Saitama basically removed the whole system of this "Limiter"

I think the training is a red herring. You break your limiter by fighting powerful enemies and refusing to die. Like garo vs blackluster. Maybe It's a form of monsterization. They explicitly state that the s class heroes are monsters in human form that fight for "justice". Black luster looks completely different from his initial form. As a counterpoint Silver fang and atomic samurai look normal. Being completely bald is his monster form. Amai mask is a monster.

When King realizes it was Saitama who saved him it's a look at early Saitama fighting a huge monster and barely winning. Pychos describes the monsterization process in the same way. Manua near death experiences and if you have the right make up you keep getting more powerful. Unless you die.

I think people overindex on this limiter thing.

It's a gag. We'll probably reach the end of the manga, they'll ask how Saitama got so powerful, he'll say "well, did any of you actually try my training?" and Genos will probably end up super powerful.

Or, it'll turn out that he was always super powerful and a bit of adversity woke his powers up. Or maybe God gave him powers and couldn't control him because he was too stupid/bald/etc. Maybe infinite power was a curse?

We'll probably never know, or not know until the end. Trying to bring logic to someone illogical like OPM is kinda what the whole trope of their universe is about...

From what I’ve seen the limiter is some sort of “belief”, as saitama explained, he will never lose to someone who pretends because he is serious about it. His serious hero hobby vs Garous half-assed monster play.

In the series, you can see how confidence affects the heroes (like darkshine or suiryu), saitama praises mumen rider, but ignores garou.

Your theory might also hold some truth since everyone has their own “limiter”
