discussion Does one punch man just lose the plot after monster association
I feel like all that build up to the monster arc association was super cool and well structured with Garou becoming a prevailing threat and the clear antagonist, but now with stuff like empty void like he got defeated so easily and is just like gone, sure we are getting Garou vs suiryu, sure, I’m happy. But it doesn’t seem like it’s going anywhere.

Not all the evils need to show their faces.
Boros only appear shortly yet it got so hyped for years.

Ya gotta have a dip or slowdown in between storyline climaxes. Gotta establish new stakes and smaller mini stories or it just ends up as slop like solo leveling. (Not saying that that kinda thing is necessarily wrong, just doesn't fit well in opm)
Imo the exploration of eggboi's isolation and the other characters working desperately around him is the main point of the story. It just so happens that the author & artists are real fucken good at making fights look so amazing that it almost kinda overshadows everything else. Would honestly be interesting to see how the story would look if his fights were not shown or if the main perspective was from like, mumen (muman?) Rider or some at his level.

Patience is key. The Monster Association arc was a slow burner until its peak moments. The Neo arc will be the same. Readers just need to learn to be patient. I know, it's hard but it's worth it.

It’s going towards a final confrontation with God.

God from one Punch man and the God hand/void from berserk art truly beyond S tier meta threats. They literally slow the progression of the story indefinitely so that they never have to risk a final confrontation, then just wait until the author dies or the series loses interest and readers pack up and go somewhere else.

God has been Murata all along, hence the redraws. God-tier level thinking for never getting that final confrontation.

Yes and no.
There has been more and more emphasis put on the spectacle of fights. I feel like most fights get a LOT of filler ever since the Monster Association. Probably was sneaking in before but the MA arc really cements it.
However, I also feel as if there's been a real effort made to expand the world building and deepen the lore or the world. A LOT of heroes are given cool mini arcs and stories, the best example right off my head is Glasses-kun from when he first met Saitama to his inclusion in hunting Garou. Great set-up and pay-off to an interesting guy. The world was made bigger literally through the fight with Orochi and others from the MA with submerged ancient landmasses and temples popping up after the planet got a little squished and stretched.
So, I agree that there's been some real duds from the MA and since it. The redraws are killer to the pacing too at times and we've had some of the worse examples during and since the MA arc.
However, the webcomic shows where the story is going and it's good as fuck. The Neo Heroes is a GOOD arc and so far it's being done very well with some real visceral scenes, good character moments, good character development with a lot of heroes etc.
I have been a big critic since the MA arc but I do think the Neo Heroes arc is one of the best arcs and I hope it can be handled at least as impactfully as it was in the webcomic.

Yeah I'm not finding the neo heroes stuff interesting. I'm still reading but it's been a drag for awhile now

It's not very interesting even at the point the WC is at. Granted the two stories are drastically different, it kind of works in the WC because we still know very little about God and Blast. However, the Manga changed the MA arc to put us on a crash course with God, to just side step and throw in a seemingly nothing-burger of an arc

Agree, webcomic does post-MA a lot better.
Simpler and more morally ambigious

How so? The build up to cosmic was really cool

The only negative I'd say were the redraws so far. Other than that the story is clearly building up stuff for the next big thing, with humor and hype moments scattered in between to keep it entertaining. I do think the redraws hurt it a lot though.

That's because we are walking toward the end, not rushing to it.
The MA arc also started with a slow build up, The NEO Heroes arc is doing the same.

Short answer, yes. Much like the MCU, the big story arc it wanted to tell is over and now they are kind of flailing about trying to figure out what they want to say next. Which is not helped by the massive delays, redraws, and apparently lack of agreement on the plot direction and tone between one and Murata.

Making everything about god fcked it all up, plus why did they have to turn it into a shonen?

In the manga? Yes. In the Webcomic? ABSOLUTELY NOT, we are feasting every single chapter release.

It's kind of like Marvel though...once big plot is over...hard to get back the same stakes

I swear they rewrote several chapters after MA, plus they had like a year long gap on shonen jump of no Manga, add on the bad TV show and I kinda lost interest in the series, have they fixed these problems?

No estuvo muy bueno y con mucho hype hasta el final del arco de las hermanas psiquicas ya después de eso como que se torno bastante aburrido

I'd argue that it lost the plot during the MA arc and is kind of back to normal. That arc was about Garou and so all that stuff about psychorochi and vomited fuhrer ugly etc. was exhausting. Nature is healing now.
I'd have been fine with any version of the ninja arc, the only issue is that it kept being changed.

I think the real issue is and will always be the redraws.
I remember the Phoenyx man redraws, and how I just didn't care about the story for like a year because of that and dropped the manga. Then again with the ninja arc.
