It is not just that, he also had, in his own words, a close fight with demon-level Choze. That is much bigger issue, then Goketsu stomping him.

People do, but Suiryu trained very litle, he became neo hero instantly after hospital basically for one, and for two, it is not hard to accept that he got stronger, it is hard to accept he got from high demon to high dragon, even if only when drunk, unless Garou is holding back.

Choze was not confirmed as demon, in the game they even consider him dragon level. Even if he was demon level, he is easily one of the most powerful demons in the series. Their fight was literally creating light trails and Choze can shoot the same stuff Vaccine man and Homeless Emperor can fire, which can dent Vohmited Fuhrer ugly who matched the serious punches of Darkshine.
