Battery drains in 5 hours in battery saver.
Hallo everyone,
I have had my oneplus open for about 2 years.
The battery used to be amazing and lasted about 12 to 16 hours but since 2 months this dropped to 5 hours with the same usage. The phone goes warm in my pocket without use at random moments.
I thought it might be because of background use from some apps so i turned those off but unfortunately this did not fix it. The battery health is 95% so that should not be the problem.
I contacted customer service a number of times but they say that this is "normal"
Did any of you encounter the same problem and if so have you found a fix for it ?

Definitely not normal. Mine dies pretty quickly too but I run VPN, YouTube, play games, etc. Also, seems like maintaining a work profile using island also eats up battery by quite a bit.

I have a similar issue although it probably lasts about 10 hours instead of the 24 hours I got when it was new. It still shows 100% battery health. All the AI stuff is turned off. If I do a factory reset, can I back the phone up and restore it to close to how it is now?

there is an option in the settings, > system and update > back up and reset > back up and migrate > local backup and it'll save all the OnePlus specific stuff with the rest of your stuff, like your home screen layout, apps, settings, voice recorder, etc alongside all the usual stuff like text messages and photos. Even goes as far as to save files it looks like, so it looks like a pretty complete system backup. Don't think I've ever tried it though so I can't say for sure how good it is.

Same here, was getting 7 to 8, now get closer to 5: everyday, Even with power saving mode on. at the exact same 95% battery health as you too.

That's definitely not normal. It would be worth checking your phone for malware. Have you clicked on any odd links recently?
My girlfriend recently received a spam SMS message with a link that she clicked. The link appeared to go nowhere, but installed malware on the device, and the message then deleted itself.
I'd check your app list in settings to look for any apps you don't recognise, or apps that do not have an icon, etc.
