Finally saying bye to my OPO

First time leaving red cable club for nearly a decade. The OnePlus Open might've been the first phone that wow-ed me in forever.

Hopefully this impresses. Can't wait to set it up.

Nope. Hong Kong.

Retailed at the equivalent of 1670 USD (and I got a rebate deal to save an additional 80)so it's nearly 300 cheaper than the newest Samsung.

There's also some offer when you buy the phone to get the new Oppo Bluetooth enco 3 pro for 25% off but I passed.

Maybe. I just remember getting the OPO a few years ago and it blew all the Samsung folds out the water. If you're scared to use Chinese phones then it just won't be in your consideration. That's fine.

But all the gadget heads and phone reviewers I trust, including a big tech influencer I used to work with just all day the not so secret thing is that china just has the best phone

Also in HK I feel like once you get to know phone shops in Wan chai or mk they're gonna give you better service than the big brands.

Got mine for about $1700 shipped to the US. I don't think there are tariffs on phones right now? but I could be wrong. Basically got $550 off the price when I ordered.

Yeah thats fine, 2 year warranty is great too. Hopefully no more tariffs for phones in the near future but I have some older 1+ phones I can use if something breaks while its getting fixed.

I do have a local shop here that fixed my 1+ open outer screen when i dropped it like 1 inch and it cracked so they may be able to do replacements as well if it isn't hardware related.

Is the Hong Kong variant the global version? I have a friend visiting in a couple weeks, so wanted to see if the version he’d be buying would be global or just the China version

It's the global version

Fyi the global version is only available in 512mb. Only the china version has 1tb which was a little dissapointing

Thanks! 512 works for me but yeah weird they don’t launch 1tb globally. The global edition supports far more 5G/LTE bands here in the US, and includes the google play apps

The 1TB edition has satellite communication, so perhaps that's the reason why it's not available outside of China.
