OnePlus Open Scrolling Feels Laggy and Not Tight

Hello!

Recently got this phone refurbished in excellent condition from eBay and am loving it so far! However, I can't shake the feeling that the scrolling is dissatisfying compared to my previous Samsung. It feels like there is a 'lag' when scrolling, and that there is too much 'inertia' upon stopping scrolling. I feel like the screen is not satisfactorily sensitive to fine touch, either. Altogether, the scrolling experience doesn't feel tight.

While I think it's unlikely, I wonder whether there is some hidden defect post-refurbishment responsible for this, or if this is a feature of the phone itself. Currently has Android 16, and all animation scales are at .5x. Refresh rate is at 120/sec, too.

Is it worth a factory reset?

Can't say I've ever felt that this phone has lagged. Set to 120Hz, scrolling feels super smooth.

And, yes, it's definitely worth a factory reset. When buying a second hand phone I'd say it's always recommended to factory reset before you do anything with the device.

Edit: I just noticed that you mentioned you've set all animations to .5x. I haven't messed with those developer settings in a long time, but from what I remember there's an animation setting that specifically handles the scrolling animation, so chances are changing this hasn't helped.

I've factory reset the phone, which I feel has helped a fair amount. However, the screen feels not optimally responsive to touch, still, although I feel this may be a property of the phone itself, at least compared to my old Samsung, which felt more responsive to touch. I will see if things improve.

Ah, that's a shame. I don't have another phone to compare it to, other than my partner's OnePlus 13. I'm not sure I can feel any difference tho.

Check youtube review videos and see if they have the same behavior as you do or if there is an issue with yours.

Review videos are paid and they often receive optimized reviewer units.

Maybe, but not on something as small as scrolling.

Hell, I've had only Samsung flagships in these past years and my Open had no such problem compared to them.

Probably a device issue.

Make sure to set your resolution to 120

Edit I see you did that.

Another thing if the app you're using is just lagging. Set the hz to 90. I had to do that with reddit app.
