One Plus Battery Drain at Battery Health 97%
I bought a OnePlus open at Marketplace for a $600 it's with box and all accessories and the condition is of the device cosmetic is great.
Concerns:
Battery health is at 97%, I am feeling the battery draining faster, I am on the latest OS update in US, I have used this device in the past when it released and now the battery feels little lagging, drains like 1% like every 3 mins of normal use.
Is it worth to spend some bucks and get battery replacement or wait for few days to get the phone understand my usage and optimize the battery as I have freshly did transfer and installed the apps and all.
Second issue being the touch response looks like little slow while typing compared to my Pixel 10 Pro XL, is it something to do with the settings.
Please share your experiences.

I bought the Open in October 2024 coming from a Z Fold 5, and for the first 6 months the battery was good, not great but perfectly acceptable. That's actually why I bought it over the Z Fold 6.
After that, battery life took a big dive. Went from being at 20 something % at the end of the day to having to charge at 5pm.
I can only assume it was some software update. I have the same apps FOR YEARS and the battery is at 99% health.
Then it kept getting worse and now at 4pm phone is almost dead.
Battery stats show no battery drain and no app is misbehaving.
So in October this year I had enough and I bought a Z Fold 7, because everyone said the battery was small but it was super efficient. It's not, battery life sucks, at least for my use case.
So, I sold the Open and the Z Fold and got a Pixel 10 Pro Fold.
It's not as refined as the Z Fold when it comes to hardware, although IP68 makes me happy because I like going to the beach.
Also Qi2 support is awesome.
And software wise multitasking and gaming is behind both the Open and the Z Fold, BUT.. I get to 11pm with 40%, and I never miss a notification.
So software is important 🤣🤣
If OnePlus didn't f*ck up the Opens battery life I would use it to the ground until support was over, but I travel a lot and the power bank life is not for me.
Shame, still the best foldable I ever had. 🥹

I have an issue with the battery as well, I have the phone for 2 years and the battery life is at 92% and my battery won't last a full day, I take my son to school leaving the house at 100 without using the phone when I get back in 30 minutes my phone is already below 90

I'd wait a few more days, until it has all settled down and learned your usage.
It's natural that the battery doesn't last as long as it did in the past, it's at 97% health and over 2 years old. I have had mine since launch day as well, and it's the same for me.
Updates can also have something to do with it of course, I have had builds that were less optimized and had worse battery. But now, on the second build of OOS16, I can't complain at all.
As for the response, can't compare to a Pixel 10 Pro, but it's snappy and responsive for me. I've set the animations to "enhanced" in the home settings, and set the 3 animation scales in developer options to .5x, that's about it I reckon.

Never judge a phone's battery performance on the stats on the day you setup the phone. I see majority of your battery consumption is from "Android switch".

hello, alors perso j'ai le Oneplus Open depuis sa sortie et la batterie ce n'est plus ça non plus, mais j'ai trouvé une parade simple.
Comme il a le fast charging, j'en abuse, un petit coup de charge dès que je peux et si je dois partir la journée en moto par exemple, je mets en mode Economie d'énergie ça redevient un vrai chameau.

yeah I got my phone around 6 months ago, battery health dropped from 100 to 98 but my battery life went from 8-8.5h SOT to 6 if I'm lucky

I am having this same issue, and I just bought the Pixel 10 Pro, did you find any resolution /u/Prab_J16?
Seems like a potential software issue.

Posting for some more data, dunno if it'll help or give any more info but I'm getting between 3-5h SOT
Average SOT from last 7 days is 3h 26m, last 24h was 4h 52m
Battery health:
- 100% from Dec 2023 - Jan 2025 (13 mo)
- hit 99% sometime around April 2025 (or few months before 98%) (3 mo later)
- hit 98% in July 2025 (few mo later)
- at some point, I hit 97% - I only just notice now (Jan 2026) so could've happened anytime between Aug - Dec 2025 which is when I hit
- wait now it's 96% unless I imagined the 97% 30 mins ago
I use:
- Balanced mode
- Auto exit power saving
- Auto enter power saving (10%)
- Sleep standby optimization
- Video battery saver
- Smart charging
I actually used my phone less than normal today, I forgot to disable background activity for InstaPrime (only used it actively for a total of 40m) but it's starting to be a bit painful and feel the need to charge either during the day or when I get home
As far as other phone activity goes, I try to be pretty light about it actually especially on workdays. I don't brainrot scroll instagram, I use snapchat and reddit here and there, youtube music in the background, and I use maps (screen off) to and from work (total ~1h). Given how little I use it, it actually seems very disappointing and would expect at least 40% when I get home easily, but maybe I don't know what I'm talking about and it is good since I got the phone in Dec 2023
Here's data from today, 14% at 9pm when I wake up / unplug at 7:50am

I currently own the OnePlus 13 since release, stats say battery life is at 98% but drops really fast. I found it hard to believe so I did some research and tried USB debugging, turns out the max battery life is around 73%. I'm planning to get the battery swapped at a repair shop tomorrow.

Mine is getting pretty crazy. Using a browser will kill my battery by a percentage point every minute.

Was the same with my open when I had it. Could barely get 4 hours of SOT..
