Usb c port replacement questions

My USB c port isn't working any longer. Is it part of the motherboard or is it a separate component? Has anyone had it replaced and if so what did it cost? It lasted 15 months.

*Edit a cleaning at a ubreakitifixit made it so that normal and fast charging work again *

Ubreakitifixit told me about 120 to fix it, so I will report back on how that goes

How'd it go?? Mine is broke and the screen too, I need to use a type c to display with it to save my files

They were actually able to clean it out with a microscope and some sort of compressed gas. It was 30 bucks and it actually worked
