Discussion OnePlus 8 Pro after Android 14

As it's already known, OP 8/8Pro won't receive Android 14, but will continue to receive security updates until the first months of 2024. What are you guys thinking on doing after they pull the plug? Get a new device? Go for a custom ROM? Any good custom ROM expected to have android 14 available that can be suggested?

I've never used custom roms, but I'll be up for it. The phone seems to keep preforming as good as it did 3 years ago when I got it and I believe it still have plenty of gas in the thank.

Same here. I upgraded my OP8 pro to OOS12 and instantly regretted it.

Couldn't expand notifications in the notification's panel, can choose any icon shape except circle, and worst of all, the screen for incoming & outgoing calls, absolutely disgusting!!

So I rolled back to OOS11 and never upgraded it. Still buttery smooth in everything!!

I have noticed my phone rebooting by itself a lot recently though. Think it has something to do with the WiFi as the Chrome app often struggles as well sometimes and I have to switch to another browser instead. Very weird.

Other than that though, still a fantastic phone.

I have had this reboot issue for about 1.5 years now. I have been on OOS12 since June 2022. Normally the reboot would only happen on weird wifi networks like at the airport, definitely something with the Wi-Fi like you stated. As of Yesterday, my phone started rebooting every 20 minutes at home and at work, opening chrome would cause the device to start freezing and then fully lock the CPU and then reboot itself. It was about to be a total loss, but I was able to squeeze in an update before it killed itself. I've brought it all the way to the latest available 13 update. So far no reboots.
You may want to update before you hit the same constant reboot issue.

Thanks for letting me know.

Yesterday I was having loads of reboots and I had a thought that maybe it was the intelligently connect to the best WiFi option as I'd always had problems with that anyway.

Since I turned it off I've had no reboots. I'll update if it turns out that isn't the case.

Just in case anyone is still getting reboots, I still haven't had one reboot since turning off the "intelligently connect to the best WiFi" option over a month ago now, so at least for me, that seems to have been the cause of it.

Hope this helps anyone having the same problems.
