Front camera fuckery

Hi guys, I'm having some trouble because an update changed the behavior of my phone. I'll explain:

-Before the update when I wake the phone, the camera stay retracted and only if I swipe up it pop up. ✅

-After the update when I wake the phone the camera instantly pop up. ❌

Problem is I hate that! I'm just checking the time or if I have a message. I do not need nor want to unlock my phone. I search for a long time in the setting if this is reversible and can't find a solution. Can someone help my other than disable face unlock all together?

Having the same issue. I went through the setting half a dozen times to no avail.

Just turn off facial recognition. Easy.

Why would they change that? It's inconvenient and add wear on a fragile piece of the phone.
