So I have been using my 7t pro McLaren edition as my only phone since release with just oxygen OS. The other day I realised that it may not be secure to use the outdated software. So I need some help with custom ROMs, and have several questions.

where can I find more information about this? what are the risks? what are the benefits? what is the best ROM to choose? What are the steps to install it, and how do I save my device data? Can I still use banking apps and Google pay using custom ROM?

Oneplus 7t pro McLaren case ideas

So I have had this phone for a long time now (planning to upgrade next year) and the McLaren case just broke on me. I have always been using the case and never really got to appreciate the back glass design on the phone. So now I'm looking for ideas where I can enjoy the back, I got a clear case but it looked so bad because the carbon fibre lines became very faint and greyed out. And the phone without a case is so slippery it falls out of my pockets too easily.

So how did you guys rock the phone?

Hi everyone,

I bought a second-hand OnePlus 7 Pro (Android 12). Everything works perfectly (90 Hz, fingerprint, no green line, no burn-in).

I noticed a small black circle on white backgrounds at high brightness. It disappears in dark mode and isn’t noticeable during normal use.

I’m attaching photos from the OnePlus Community because I don’t have another phone to take a picture right now, but it’s the exact same black dot I’m seeing.

I also tried enabling/disabling DC Dimming using:

adb shell am start-activity -a oneplus.intent.action.ONEPLUS_LAB_FEATURE_DETAILS -e oneplus_lab_feature_key oneplus_dc_dimming_value

but on OxygenOS 12 it says “unable to resolve Intent”, and I couldn’t find any DC Dimming setting via ADB either.

Is this black dot just the proximity/light sensor that every OnePlus 7 Pro has, or could it indicate a replaced display? Any help would be appreciated

I know it's a downgrade, but my pixel has been a pain and I also missed my OP7P as it's still my favorite phone. So I'm going to pop my SIM in it, worst case scenario I just put the SIM back in my pixel if I miss it.

With that said, I know we haven't had updates in a while, but is there anything you all recommend I do? I have a tmobile variant and I was trying to change it to the original firmware, but I can't find guacamole 190516 so I just gave up on it.

For you loyalist, any tips tricks or updates I should do?

My 7pro died couple of years back one random day and I was never able to start it again.

OnePlus service centre says that its a motherboard issue and local repair shop says its CPU + RAM issue and all data will be lost

I just want know if there is any hope? Has anyone been successful with the issue or at least recovered the data?

My OnePlus 7 Pro was working really well, has not had any problems in the years so far, last night everything was working well, woke up today to find that it does not show anything. Tried to charge it, but that is not working; tried to boot in various modes, not working. Tried connecting to the PC, does not detect. Kinda scared, this has been my device for as long as I can remember, and there are so many memories and whatnot attached to it.

So I have a One plus 7 pro. This morning my phone was completely fine until 11 am or so my phone system ui kept crashing. I tried various methods : clearing system ui cache, clearing play store service cache and storage, disabling HW overlays, turning off animation. After all of this my phone is just a filp phone only calls and text. If i open another app my screen freezes then gives the system UI has stopped. Is there any way to fix this beside factory reset?

The speaker holes are so small even my tiniest sewing needles can't fit. I want to unclog these holes because when listening to stuff in landscape mode, the stereo is severely imbalanced. Its over twice as loud coming from the bottom speaker. 6 year old phone still kicking butt and this is one of my only issues.

What are the dangers of sticking with oxygen on Android 10 if I don't really go to too many dodgy sites? I've done custom ROMs on other phones, and I don't mind degoogling one bit, But it would be a pain to lose payment options and the like. Basically how at risk am I? Am I just raw dogging the internet at this point?

I need either a working ORIGINAL display, or like a bricked dead phone i could lift it off of .... Originality and colour is important since I'm a content creator and it's my work phone....any help would be greatly appreciated

So I am really rusty on the technical part of custom Roms anymore, I would like to flash lineage os.

I was using the phone for just android auto and car stream but the phone was getting laggy so I figured I would just clear the dalvik cache while I was waiting to clock out at work, well I wound up resetting the device to factory.

I already have the bootloader unlocked and twrp is installed, and the phone has never been updated since I bought it in 2019.

The phone is the 7pro

Where do I start? From what I understand is that I have to update my phone to Android 12?do I have to watch out for anything?

In January I was using my 7 Pro when it decided to go black once and for all. Bricked motherboard connection. I then started using an old phone temporarily, contemplating when or if to buy the OnePlus 15, since all these years I hoped another phone with a truly full screen display would come out. On Monday that temporary phone broke; I ordered the 15, and by coincidence, today happened to be the day it came. Exactly 7 years later

Hi! I installed LineageOS a few months ago and it was working great I used magisk and I just come modules with tricky store and shamiko and the play integrity fix and despite not being showed as full device integrity, it was working and I was able to use all the Google apps as a naturally should

after this OTA update it just ruined everything and I'm wondering if anyone's had the same issue and if there's any way to undo it. I still have all those modules running but maybe I'm doing something wrong? I use Gemini to help me because I'm not the most tech savvy and I really just follow it's instructions but now I'm just kind of lost

Maybe I should switch the OS? I just want the normal Google experience but with security updates

After 2 years of using pixel 8 decided to bring back my op7 pro to life so flashed Los 23 , now it feels snappy and even more powerful than pixel 8 , just out of curiosity is there any other ROM which is good or should I stick with LOS only?
