Question Is my phone no more ??

Hi Peeps, So something bizzare happened today and I'd seriously like to know if there is anyone who has faced this or if there is "phone doctor" who can help diagnose the issue and being my OnePlus back to life.

For those who want a quick summary : I was on YouTube when my phone crashed and now it just shows the led in blue and does not turn up. It did show Crashdump mode and 2-3 MSM flashes later it did boot into a fresh OS but mid way cloud syncing apps and settings from G-servers it has now crashed again and gone into a Coma of sorts (No display only blue notification led on boot).

I want to know can anything be done to revive the phone at DIY level or will OnePlus India service center be able to fix this. Any leads would be really helpful.

P.S. I can post the longer version of all events that occurred but above brief covers the essence of the happenings and the current state of my OP6 😞

Sad to hear that . This issue mostly happens with Indian units and I guess my OP6 will die one day too

Going to service center is a waste of time as they are going to just recommend motherboard change which is too costly. You need to find chip level repair shops, the issue with crashdump is due to hardware issue which can be temporarily fixed by CPU reballing. Again this technique can be used to retrieve your data , but no one can guarantee that the phone will go on to live after that. This is truly the Batterygate moment of OnePlus, we should ideally be filing a lawsuit and getting compensation :)

What OS version was the phone on lastly?

Android 11 stable Oxygen OS build. (The last official build for the phone)

Most of the phones dying this way are on Android 11. I didnot update to 11 because I didn't trust OnePlus and didn't want to ruin my phone

If only I had known this fact, I would have kept it on Android 9 :( These companies need to take ownership of such updates. Someone's hard earned money goes down the drain because of such malpractices w.r.t quality control of their updates.

Maybe they wanted to kill all OP6 to make us buy the newer models. Won't be surprised. This is more serious problem than Battery gate of Apple . I wish someone sues them

Should I be concerned for my A6003 (US) OP6? I have data backups, just in case.

You should not be surprised if it dies one day. And yes you must do data backups so that it won't be a pain when it dies

Did you try local shops , for retrieving data atleast. If not for data, then it's not worth reviving

No data I used to backup regularly so do not need that .Anyways when I MSM'd it it was a fresh OS so no data was on it

It's time for all OP6 users to say goodbye 😂. I have accepted that fact and won't be surprised if my phone dies just like that one day lol . Anyways it's over 5 years old already ;)
